How to Filter Out Paid Placement Podcasts in Your Campaign

Some podcasts charge a fee for guest appearances — often called paid placements or pay-to-play interviews. PodPitch makes it easy to filter these out so you can focus on earned media opportunities that best fit your goals.

Step 1: Open Your Campaign

  • From your PodPitch dashboard, go to the campaign you’d like to review.

  • Example: Manifest Greatness.

Step 2: Use the Bulk Edit Tool

  • In the top right corner, click Bulk Edit.

  • You’ll see several filtering options, including:

    • Too Big or Too Small

    • Paid Placements

    • Podcasts Not Yet Pitched

    • Poor Matches

Step 3: Filter Paid Placements

  • Select Paid Placements from the dropdown.

  • PodPitch will show any podcasts in your campaign that request payment for guest appearances.

  • If none appear, your campaign doesn’t currently include any pay-to-play podcasts.

Step 4: Review and Take Action

  • Click Review Selection to see the filtered list.

  • From there, you can remove or exclude any paid-placement podcasts.

💡 Why This Matters

About 1 in 5 podcasts now request payment for guest interviews. Filtering these out helps you:

  • Keep your outreach authentic and unpaid

  • Focus on organic media opportunities

  • Save time and effort during campaign setup

If you (or your clients) also host a podcast, you can often negotiate swaps — exchanging guest appearances instead of paying a fee.
