Step 1: Open The Journalist Profiles Tab
From your dashboard, click Journalist Profiles (next to Podcast Profiles).
Click Add Inactive Profile, select Journalist, and choose:
Individual,
Company, or
Duplicate From Podcast Profile (fastest if you already use PodPitch).
Step 2: Activate The Profile
Once created, fill the seat and activate your journalist profile.
Step 3: Create A Campaign
Click Create Campaign With Journalists, select your profile, and confirm “Pitch My Client To A Journalist.”
Step 4: Add A News Hook
PodPitch will generate three sample news hooks for you.
You can use all three or write your own.
Hooks are like keywords — they help match you with journalists writing about those topics.
Step 5: Find Journalists
Click Find Journalists, then:
Choose your target country
Unselect irrelevant categories (like academic or government publications)
Choose your preferred time range (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year)
Click Begin Deep Search.
Step 6: Review & Choose Journalists
You’ll see matched outlets (like The New York Times) with multiple journalist cards.
Click any article title to review their work. Unselect anyone who’s not a fit.
Step 7: Choose Writing Style
Select your preferred pitch style:
Traditional PR
Gen Z Short
Axios Smart Brevity
Then click Continue.
Step 8: Finalize & Launch
PodPitch will generate three subject lines — pick your favorite and click Create Campaign.
You can:
Review all emails under each journalist's card
Add Custom Writing Instructions for tone or talking points
Switch to Smart Mode to automate outreach (20 outlets/day)
💡 Tip
Your campaign runs automatically in Smart Mode, or you can choose to manually approve each email before sending.
Replies from journalists will appear both in your inbox and in the Waiting For You tab inside PodPitch.
